new students

Welcome to the Yoga & Integrative Medicine Institute (YIMI)!

At YIMI, we know that yoga stands the test of time. YIMI respects both the ancient yogic and Ayurvedic teachings and modern Western medicine, and gives students the opportunity to learn these sciences side by side so they can develop an appreciation of their value and become the best practitioners in their fields.

YIMI delivers registered and renowned Yoga Teacher TrainingMeditation, Restorative Yoga as well as post -graduate specialties in yogic specialities, such as yoga nidra and trauma sensitive yoga.

Our courses are fully registered with their respective governing bodies, most of whom have the highest standards in the world. We work closely with Yoga Australia and the Meditation Australia to consistently bring you the best training possible.

YIMI was founded by Celia Roberts and Nicole Loxley. We work alongside highly qualified and experienced teachers. Meet the teachers of our courses here.

Answering your questions

We have a list of faqs here. If the answer to your question isn’t found here, try reading our Policies as well as the specific information regarding the course you are interested in. If you still have a query, please contact us.

Choosing a course that's right for you

Click here to find out more about the courses offered at YIMI or get in touch by emailing or calling 0402 377 220. We look forward to hearing from you.

Our faqs page has detailed information on what’s needed to become a yoga teacher including the difference between 200 hour and 350 hour teacher training courses, course registration and insurance.

Once you have decided what type of course you’d like to do (200hr, 350hr etc.) you can browse through the different intakes available and find the one that suits you. We offer an option of intakes, as well as online and distance teacher training for both the 200 hour and 350 hour training. A full schedule of dates can be found on each course page along with prices, required books & props and details on how to enrol.

If you’re struggling to find a course that suits your availability please contact us for other options including mixed intakes. Whilst we recommend committing to one full course intake, we understand that life isn’t always smooth sailing and our dates may not fit into your year, so we will do our best to find you a solution.

How do I pay?

You can find details on how to pay and enrol on every course page under pricing or enrolment.

Firstly have a read through our policies. Here you’ll find all the info on course cancellation, amendments, class hours and other useful info.

Secondly, most of our courses have two payment options available; You can choose an upfront payment or a payment plan.

We are notified as soon as you make your payment, so we’ll know you’re in and which intake you’ve enrolled in 🙂

Okay! I've enrolled, now what?

Congratulations on your enrolment! Once we have received your payment there are a few of things you’ll need to do (we’ll email you about this too).

Class hours are allocated as part of some YIMI Yoga teacher training courses. These must be completed to graduate from your course and can be taken at Celia Roberts Upper Brookfield Retreat, Zama Yoga Toowong or Zama Yoga Toowoomba. If you are unable to attend these studios due to long distance, classes may be undertaken with a long distance senior mentor who is approved by YIMI, prior to your commencement of the course in which you are enrolled.

You must notify us of your class hours location/s via email before undertaking any classes. If you wish to split your hours between locations you must specify the hours you will undertake at each location (e.g. 12 classes at Upper Brookfield & 18 at Zama Yoga). If you wish to change your allocation choice at a later date please notify us via email. A $50 administration fee will apply should you change your allocation more than once.

Class Hours can be used for:

  • Yoga and meditation classes at Zama Yoga Toowong, Zama Yoga Toowoomba, or Celia Roberts Upper Brookfield Retreat
  • Retreats at Celia Robert’s Upper Brookfield Retreat (all retreats to be booked through Celia Roberts Upper Brookfield Retreat)

Class Hours may not be used for:

  • YIMI Short courses
  • YIMI Teacher Training workshops and courses
  • Courses and workshops at Zama Yoga Toowong and Zama Yoga Toowoomba (unless specified)

You may start using your class hours as soon as you have made a payment for your chosen course (even if this is before the start date of the course). You have 12 months from the course start date to complete your class hours.

Purchase your props and books

Props can be purchased directly from any of our partner studios; Celia Roberts Upper Brookfield Retreat, Zama Yoga Toowong or Zama Yoga Toowoomba (availability may vary) or online at the many yoga suppliers available.

Some books are available to be purchased from Celia Roberts Upper Brookfield Retreat.

YIMI does not take orders for books or props. Please contact the studio you wish to purchase them from or find an alternative place to purchase.

Look out for your welcome pack

We will send you a welcome pack via email closer to the course commencement. This will include your course manuals, a checklist of what you will need throughout the course and a detailed schedule for your reference.

Remember you can contact us at anytime if you have any queries.
