Yoga Nidra is such effective technique, not only for physical or mental relaxation but also for preparing the mind for the higher yogic disciplines. Yoga Nidra literally means Yogic Sleep, and it is a state of conscious deep sleep, a dynamic sleep that takes place between the awakened state and the sleep state.

Yoga Nidra is now an evidence-based practice. The practice has proven benefits for people undergoing PTSD, depression, insomnia, hostility, psychosomatic diseases, chronic pain, anxiety, stress-related disorders and chemical dependency as well as for the establishment of joy, resilience and a sense of well-being in daily life.

Research further shows that the brain experiences the same activity during a 30 minute Yoga Nidra practice as about 4 hours of sleep. If we regularly remove our stress by Yoga Nidra, we will not only sleep better, but also our sleep will be much more restorative. Through this form of relaxation we prepare our system to be in a state of perfect receptivity.

Our 200hr face-to-face Meditation course meets the course registration requirements of Meditation Australia, offering a pathway towards Senior Membership, and upon completion students can register for membership. The YIMI Meditation Teacher Training course includes substantial non-contact material which is essential for Meditation Australia course registration. Students wishing to gain membership with Meditation Australia are encouraged to enrol in the full face-to-face 200hr Meditation Teacher Training course.

Insurance to teach meditation is obtainable without Meditation Australia membership. Provided you complete at least 100hrs of training, you can complete any combination of our meditation courses including the Online Meditation Teacher Training course and be qualified to teach meditation.

YIMI meditation courses also attract CPD points with Yoga Australia and other governing bodies.

All courses include non-contact hour requirements. For example, 25hr and 50hr course graduates will receive certificates and 25 and 50 CPD points respectively if all course requirements are completed (contact and non-contact). If only contact requirements are completed, 16hr and 32hr certificates will be issued for 25hr and 50hr courses respectively.

This is generally suitable for students undertaking courses at the Upper Brookfield Retreat campus, although if you have a car, the campus is only a 20 minute drive to the Zama Yoga Toowong campus.
